The Just Transition Fund is investing in 16 projects designed to strengthen the business sector and create new jobs.
For many SMEs, the path to a green transition is marked by time-consuming and substantial investments in new technology, certifications, and skills. The Fund for a Just Transition is now helping to pave the way by investing 226 million Danish kroner in 16 different projects.
The 16 projects have been carefully selected with the aim of accelerating the green transition in the areas of Power-to-X, brown biorefining—such as pyrolysis—and CO2 capture, utilization, and storage.
Among the projects in North Jutland is one that focuses on developing detailed models for the design and optimization of pyrolysis plants in conjunction with CO2 capture.
Another project has secured funding to strengthen opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to become suppliers and subcontractors within Power-to-X and the green value chain in North Jutland. And in Hirtshals, Greenport Scandinavia has received funding to develop an integrated CCUS infrastructure centered on the Port of Hirtshals and will develop models and solutions that support the establishment of a CO2 hub.
CCUS projects have been implemented in both Northern and Southern Jutland. The Nybro Pyrolysis project in South Jutland aims to develop and demonstrate an electrified, integrated bioenergy system in which pyrolysis combines biogas, CO2 capture, and Power-to-X into a single circular cycle.
