About the Fund

Are you the owner of—or an employee at—a company, research institution, or organization that works with technologies and solutions that reduce, transport, utilize, or store CO₂?

You then have the opportunity to receive 30% funding through a framework program under CO2Vision NeXt, where Green Hub Denmark administers a fund of 16.4 million Danish kroner for CCUS projects.

A total of 5 million DKK is being offered through this announcement. Please note that the funding pool may be increased by any additional funds returned from ongoing projects.

The grant can cover machinery, equipment, or activities that help you turn green ideas into concrete solutions.

Questions and Answers About the Fund

Through this fund, companies can receive support for projects and activities that advance efforts in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).

For example, these could be:

  • Purchase of machinery and equipment for CO₂ capture, transport, utilization, and storage (no grants may be provided for operational or financial leasing).
  • Scaling up existing equipment —for example, when you want to test the technology on a larger scale.
  • Preliminary studies and analyses that identify CCUS opportunities at your company.
  • Testing and demonstrations of solutions, where you can try out the technology in real-world scenarios.

Step 1: Download the document package

Step 2: Describe your project idea

Please fill out the application form with a brief and specific description of your project.

Step 3: Attach the relevant statements

Complete and attach the required de minimis declarations and any partnership declarations. They must be signed by the company and any project partners.

Step 4: Submit the application

Once the documents have been completed, please send the application as a single package to Kasper Kjærsgaard Nielsen, Green Hub Denmark, at kani@aalborg.dk and Alex Søgaard Moreno, Green Hub Denmark, at

You will receive a confirmation once your application has been registered.

Step 5: Wait for the evaluation and response

Applications are evaluated based on the following selection criteria:

  1. Contribute to addressing the impacts of the transition to a climate-neutral economy and to achieving the objectives of the Business Lighthouse initiative, including its vision and strategic directions.
  2. Link to current activities, coordination with relevant stakeholders, and simplification.
  3. Personal commitment and a focus on companies’ needs.
  4. Partnership, Local Engagement, and Governance

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

You will receive a response to your application via email. The response will be sent to the email address provided in the application. You will receive a response regardless of the outcome of the academic review. Accepted applications will receive a grant. The remaining applications will receive a rejection letter with an academic justification.

Several companies in North Jutland have already received funding through CO₂Vision NeXt to develop and test new technologies in the field of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).

The recipients include both established industrial companies and smaller technology firms working on everything from energy efficiency and biochar to green hydrogen and direct CO₂ capture.

To be eligible for the grant, your project must:

  1. Have a clear and direct connection to the development of CCUS technologies.
  2. Involve one or more commercial companies.
  3. Have a realistic and feasible project plan with clear goals and timelines.

The de minimis regulation allows a company to receive aid of up to 300,000 EUR over a three-year period. A participating company may receive several smaller amounts, but the total amount must never exceed the de minimis aid threshold. All companies receiving de minimis aid must complete and submit a de minimis declaration before aid can be granted.

The period is now a rolling one and thus no longer corresponds to the fiscal year of individual companies—but simply covers the preceding three years. This means, for example, that if a company receives 300,000 EUR in de minimis aid and the commitment date is January 2, 2024, the company will not be eligible to receive de minimis aid again until January 2, 2027.

When calculating the total, de minimis aid granted before January 1, 2024, must be included.

The new regulation also introduces a requirement to register de minimis aid in a central registry, either at the national or EU level. However, the registration requirement does not take effect until January 1, 2026. Currently, there is no de minimis registry in Denmark. Implementation of the registration requirement is pending. The method of obtaining de minimis declarations must be used until the registry covers a three-year period.

With regard to the scope of application of the general de minimis regulation, it is important to note that the fisheries and aquaculture sectors and the agricultural sector are subject to separate de minimis rules.

If your company is approved to receive a grant through the fund, the project period will run through August 31, 2026.

All activities must be completed, paid for, and submitted to the project administration by this date.

Expenses incurred after August 31, 2026, are not eligible for funding.

Meet companies that have received grants from the CO₂Vision NeXt fund

The grant from CO2Vision is the crucial catalyst that makes this project possible. Without this co-funding, the project cannot be carried out on the necessary scale or within the critical timeframe. The grant thus has a direct and decisive incentive effect for us as an SME.

Without funding, the project will have to be postponed for at least 2–3 years until sufficient capital has been raised through other activities.

The 2030 climate goals require action now—a postponement would undermine the project’s contribution to North Jutland’s CCUS strategy.
