Startup Demo Day at CO2Vision SPININ with 14 startups and 21 panelists

On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, we brought together startups and partners at CO2Vision’s Spin-in event to present the new technologies developed by the startups. The solutions are aimed at both the participating case companies and broader needs, where the challenges outlined hold potential for energy symbiosis, flexible supply, and storage within the CCUS value chain.

CO2Visions Spin-in is an open-innovation initiative that fosters co-creation between startups and established companies, with a focus on real-world implementation and impact. We identify and evaluate new CCUS technologies that can accelerate development in North Jutland and among North Jutland-based companies.

A key pathway to acceleration is open innovation, in which companies collaborate with startups that test their technologies in real-world settings with the aim of mutual growth. Aalborg Forsyning and RCON are participating in CO2Vision Spin-in as case companies.

Another approach involves partnerships between startups and consulting engineering firms. Here, we are exploring how consultants can participate in joint projects that both expand their product portfolio and give startups the opportunity to test and validate their technology. We will be exploring this “twist” on the Spin-in method in the coming months together with AAU Business School, XFACTORY, Adding Engineering, COWI, and Rambøll, who also participated in the panel discussion on demo day.

In addition, we are also collaborating with the Danish Technological Institute so that, after the project period, we can continue to accelerate CCUS startups in partnership with companies and national testing and demonstration facilities.

Representatives from the City of Aalborg, AAU Energy, Invest in Aalborg, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners also attended the event.
