Last week, a kick-off meeting was held for one of the new projects in CO2Vision. The “Green Methanol Power Generator” project builds on the technology and system from a previous project with a view to scaling up and meeting the need for larger, modular generators, particularly in the construction industry —that is, a generator ranging from 45 to 200 kVA. The CO2-neutral generator is based on High Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane technology and is powered by green methanol. The project’s customers, who will also provide demonstration sites, are Loxam and Aalborg Events. The generator is being developed and manufactured by Whitecell Systems and Elektro Gruppen, with UCN and Hydrogen Valley also participating in the partnership.
“The Green Methanol Power Generator is a good example of how innovation projects help spark new project ideas and solutions. Here, the team is building on the findings from a previous project while also developing a new product,” says Maria Kristiansen, Project Manager at Energy Cluster Denmark.
